About this album
Sinatra at the Sands captures Frank Sinatra in commanding live form, backed by Count Basie and an orchestra arranged and conducted by Quincy Jones. Recorded at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas and issued in 1966, it blends relaxed charisma, crisp swing and immaculate phrasing across standards such as Come Fly with Me, Fly Me to the Moon and The September of My Years. The set also includes Sinatra’s trademark between-song banter, which adds wit and intimacy to the room. Widely regarded as one of his standout live albums, it shows how effortlessly he could turn a club date into a career-defining performance.
