Fatboy Slim – Better Living Through Chemistry

"Better Living Through Chemistry" wasn't just Fatboy Slim's breakthrough—the album also helped redefine what electronic music could be in the mainstream. Released in 1996, the album came out at a pivotal moment in British club culture and fused Big Beat, the energy of acid house, and experimental, sample-heavy sounds into something unconventional, accessible, and unmistakably British. Tracks like “Everybody Needs a 303,” “Going Out of My Head,” and “The Weekend Starts Here” captured the anarchic spirit of that era while laying the foundation for a sound that would shape the pop culture of the late ’90s.

To mark the 30th anniversary of Norman Cook’s career as Fatboy Slim, BMG is reissuing his debut album “Better Living Through Chemistry,” which also celebrates its 30th anniversary this September.

The double LP—like previous reissues of Fatboy Slim classics—has been remastered using the half-speed mastering process and includes liner notes by journalist Alexis Petridis.
