Faces – Ooh La La

Faces' Ooh La La was the band's fourth and final studio album, released in March 1973 at a point when internal tensions were already pulling Faces apart. Even so, it became a major success, reaching No. 1 in the UK and No. 21 in the US, and it closes the group's catalogue with one of their most enduring songs: the title track, later placed at No. 246 in Rolling Stone's 2021 list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

What gives the album its character is the balance between the band's loose, bar-room rock energy and a more reflective side led by Ronnie Lane. Sources here consistently point to Lane's importance on the second side, where songs such as Glad and Sorry and Just Another Honky help steer the record toward a warmer, more wistful mood.
