About this album
Time Pieces gathers Eric Clapton’s early solo era into a concise overview of his late-1970s commercial peak. Issued in 1982, the compilation brings together defining hits and signature cuts such as I Shot the Sheriff, After Midnight, Layla, Wonderful Tonight and Cocaine, tracing the period when Clapton balanced blues authority with a smoother soft rock sound. It captures the moments that made him one of rock’s most durable solo stars after Cream and Derek and the Dominos, with material that helped cement his mainstream popularity across both sides of the Atlantic.
