The Elvis Presley Sun Collection is a crucial compilation of the Sun recordings that introduced Elvis as a force in rock’n’roll. Drawn from his formative 1954–55 sessions for Sam Phillips at Sun Studio in Memphis, it gathers the breakthrough sides that fused country, blues and gospel into something newly dangerous and immediate. Songs such as That’s All Right, Blue Moon of Kentucky and Mystery Train show the young Presley’s voice at its most urgent and unguarded, backed by the lean, echo-rich sound that helped define rockabilly.
