Electric Light Orchestra – Olé ELO (VG+/VG+) – LP, AU

Olé ELO is an LP by Electric Light Orchestra released on the Jet Records label.

About this album

Olé ELO is a strong early compilation that distils Electric Light Orchestra’s first surge of symphonic pop-rock. Issued in 1976, it gathers key material from the band’s early albums, showing how Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood’s ambition turned rock songs into bold, orchestral set pieces without losing melodic punch. With landmark tracks such as 10538 Overture, Roll Over Beethoven, Showdown and Evil Woman, the set traces ELO’s move from progressive experimentation towards the polished, radio-friendly sound that made them international chart favourites. It remains a useful snapshot of the band’s rapid rise and their knack for making grand arrangements feel immediate.
