Entrance is an LP by Edgar Winter released on the Epic Stereorama label.

About this album

Entrance is a striking debut that announced Edgar Winter as a restless multi-instrumentalist with ideas bigger than straight-ahead rock. Released in 1970, the album blends blues-rock power, jazz-rock looseness and symphonic colour, with extended arrangements that move between grit and virtuosity. Winter’s band setting gives the record a punchy, exploratory feel, and his version of Tobacco Road became a key showcase for the album’s muscular energy and improvisational edge. Widely regarded as one of his most distinctive early statements, Entrance helped define Winter’s crossover appeal between rock, blues and progressive experimentation.
