Released in 1983, the album folds disco, downtempo grooves and freer funk textures into the group’s trademark vocal harmonies and rhythmic precision, reflecting the changing sound of post-disco R&B. It arrived during a transitional period for the band, with a slimmer, more synthesiser-led approach that gave the record a futuristic edge. While not among their biggest commercial peaks, it remains an important late-era statement from one of soul’s most inventive and influential groups.
