About this album

Dream Come True presents Earl Klugh at his most lyrical, refining his guitar-led blend of jazz, smooth jazz and jazz-funk into an elegant early-1980s statement. Released in 1980, the album shows why Klugh became such an influential figure in contemporary jazz: his clean, fluid touch turns each piece into something understated yet memorable. Built around melodic clarity rather than showy improvisation, it moves easily between laid-back groove and refined harmony, with the title track and ‘If It’s In Your Heart (It’s In Your Smile)’ highlighting his gift for warmth and accessibility. It is a fine example of Klugh’s polished crossover sound.
