Desperado is an LP by Eagles from 1974 released on the Asylum Records label.
About this album
Desperado is the Eagles’ breakthrough statement, fusing country rock polish with a cinematic outlaw theme. Arriving in 1973, the album sharpened the band’s identity after their debut by pairing Glenn Frey, Don Henley and Bernie Leadon’s close harmonies with concise songwriting and a stronger sense of narrative. Produced by Glyn Johns, it includes signature songs such as Tequila Sunrise and the title track, both key to the group’s reputation for melodic, radio-ready rock. Though not a huge hit on release, Desperado became one of the Eagles’ most admired albums and a cornerstone of 1970s American rock.
