Duran Duran – Notorious (VG+/VG+) – LP, AU 1986

Notorious is an LP by Duran Duran from 1986 released on the EMI label.

About this album

Notorious is the sleek, funk-driven pivot that found Duran Duran refining their sound for the mid-1980s. Produced by Nile Rodgers, the album replaced some of the band’s earlier bombast with tighter rhythms, sharper bass lines and a cooler, more danceable edge, while Simon Le Bon’s vocals and the band’s melodic instincts kept the songs unmistakably theirs. The title track became a major hit, and singles such as Skin Trade helped extend their chart presence as they adapted to a changing pop landscape. It is widely regarded as a key transitional album in Duran Duran’s catalogue.
