About this album
Don McLean’s Tapestry is an assured early statement that helped establish his reputation beyond a single breakthrough hit. Released in 1970, the album blends folk-rooted storytelling with soft rock clarity, drawing strength from McLean’s distinctive voice and his gift for memorable melodies. The record includes And I Love You So, one of his best-known compositions, and reflects the more intimate, lyric-driven side of the singer-songwriter era. Across its reflective writing and restrained arrangements, Tapestry shows McLean refining the style that would make him a major presence in American folk rock.
