DJ Shadow's The Mo'Wax Singles 1993-1997 gathers the producer's original Mo'Wax releases from 1993 to 1997, the run that established his pre-Endtroducing..... world of instrumental hip-hop, downbeat drift and collage-minded beat science. This is the first legitimate reissue of those singles in decades, spread across an eight-disc set and drawn from the era when tracks like In/Flux, What Does Your Soul Look Like and Midnight In A Perfect World helped define DJ Shadow's early language.

What makes this box especially worthwhile is that it is more than a straight archive dump. The audio was half-speed remastered from the original tapes by Miles Showell at Abbey Road, and the set adds numerous previously unreleased mixes and edits alongside a bonus disc of original demos for four songs. The source material also makes clear that several key pieces appear here in forms that were not widely available before, including standalone versions from What Does Your Soul Look Like and early MPC-to-DAT demos that document Shadow's process at its most skeletal.
