About this album
Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs is Derek & The Dominos’ searing blues-rock masterpiece and one of Eric Clapton’s defining achievements. Released in 1970, the double album was cut in Miami with producer Tom Dowd and features the interplay of Clapton, Duane Allman, Bobby Whitlock, Carl Radle and Jim Gordon at full strength. Its blend of raw guitar dialogue, confessionals such as Bell Bottom Blues and the epic Layla helped make it a benchmark for classic rock and blues rock alike. The record’s emotional urgency, musicianship and long critical reputation have kept it central to rock history.
