    Ad Nauseam is a ferocious burst of taboo-breaking satire from Derek & Clive, the foul-mouthed alter egos of Peter Cook and Dudley Moore. Released in 1978, it pushed their improvised comedy further into outrage, surrealism and social provocation, mining targets such as politics, celebrity, music and the media for deliberately shocking effect. Unlike polished stand-up, the record thrives on spontaneity and brinkmanship, with Cook and Moore trading escalating insults, obscenities and absurd asides until the joke becomes the collision itself. It remains one of the most notorious statements in British comedy, admired for how far it is willing to go.
