About this album
Dave Brubeck's All-Time Greatest Hits is a strong overview of one of jazz's most distinctive modern voices. Issued in 1974, the compilation draws together signature recordings from Brubeck's cool jazz years, including the enduring standard Take Five, along with pieces such as Unsquare Dance and The Duke. Brubeck's quartet work helped bring sophisticated time signatures, melodic wit and a broad popular audience into the centre of modern jazz. This collection highlights the pianist-composer's blend of elegance, rhythmic invention and easy accessibility, which made his music both commercially successful and artistically influential.
