About this album

Live At The Apollo is a lively 1985 concert document that brings Daryl Hall & John Oates together with former Temptations singers David Ruffin and Eddie Kendricks. Recorded at New York’s famous Apollo Theatre, the album draws on the group’s shared love of classic soul, pop and rhythm and blues, while showing Hall & Oates’ seamless blend of polished songwriting and vocal swing. The set mixes their own hits with soul standards, giving the performance extra historical weight as a meeting point between blue-eyed soul and Motown-era performance tradition. It remains a notable live release from one of the era’s biggest crossover acts.
