Dam-Funk – Toeachizown: Fly (M/NM) – LP, US 2012

Toeachizown: Fly is an LP by Dam-Funk from 2012 released on the Stones Throw Records label.

About this album

Toeachizown is Dam-Funk’s boldest statement, a sprawling modern boogie set that refreshed West Coast funk for a new generation. Issued in 2009, the album brought together analogue synths, elastic basslines and laid-back vocals in a style that nodded to P-Funk, electro-funk and the soulful side of 1980s boogie. Its length and ambition helped establish Dam-Funk as a key architect of the funk revival, with songs such as “Searchin’ 4 Funk’s Future” and “I Wanna Thank You For (Steppin Into My Life)” showing both his crate-digger knowledge and his gift for making tradition feel current. Widely regarded as a modern cult classic, it remains central to his catalogue.
