Bayou Country is an LP by Creedence Clearwater Revival from 1969 released on the Liberty label.

About this album

Bayou Country is the album where Creedence Clearwater Revival sharpened their swamp-rock identity into something immediate and enduring. Released in 1969, their second album blends blues rock, hard rock and folk influences into a compact statement driven by John Fogerty’s raspy vocal attack and tightly focused songwriting. The set includes signature tracks such as Born on the Bayou, Proud Mary and Keep On Chooglin’, songs that helped establish the band’s reputation for combining American roots imagery with radio-ready hooks. Its lean approach and muscular groove made Bayou Country one of the defining rock albums of the era, and a key step in Creedence’s rapid rise.
