Chris Rea – Deltics (E/VG+) – LP, AU 1979

Deltics is an LP by Chris Rea from 1979 released on the Magnet label.

About this album

Deltics is an assured early statement from Chris Rea, balancing rock muscle with pop melody and the dry, rueful songwriting that would define his career. Released in 1979, the album shows Rea already in command of his distinctive guitar tone and conversational delivery, with songs such as 'Twisted Wheel' and the title track pointing towards the blend of grit and elegance that later made him a major album artist. It sits at an important point in his catalogue, following his breakthrough and helping establish him as a writer capable of turning everyday detail into durable, melodic songs.
