About this album
The Very Best of Cat Stevens is a concise showcase of one of the era’s most distinctive singer-songwriters. Drawing from his late-1960s and 1970s peak, the compilation highlights the blend of soft rock, pop-rock polish and reflective songwriting that made Stevens a major voice in British popular music. Songs such as Wild World, Father and Son, Moonshadow and Morning Has Broken show his gift for melody, emotional clarity and quiet moral questioning. Arriving in 1990, this collection helped cement his reputation for writing songs that feel intimate yet universal, and for turning simple arrangements into enduring classics.
