Carly Simon – Spoiled Girl (E/E) – LP, AU 1985

Spoiled Girl is an LP by Carly Simon from 1985 released on the Epic label.

About this album

Spoiled Girl finds Carly Simon moving decisively into glossy mid-’80s pop-rock, pairing her unmistakable songwriting with sharper electronic textures and contemporary studio polish. Released in 1985, the album reflects a period when established singer-songwriters were adapting to the era’s slicker production values, and Simon responds with hooks, direct melodies and a more forceful vocal presence. Songs such as “Tired Of Being Blonde” and the title track show her still balancing emotional detail with commercial ambition. Though not among her biggest commercial triumphs, the record remains a noteworthy snapshot of Simon adapting her sound to the pop landscape of the decade.
