Brian Wilson’s self-titled solo debut is a poignant, inventive return from one of pop’s most visionary songwriters. Released in 1988, the album marked a significant new chapter after years of well-documented personal turmoil, pairing his melodic gift with a more contemporary production palette that folds in rock, pop and synthesiser textures.
