Boz Scaggs – Silk Degrees (Green Vinyl)

"Silk Degrees" is Boz Scaggs' seventh solo album. The album reached #2 and stayed on the Billboard 200 for 115 weeks. Boz (and "Lowdown") won awards for Best Single of the Year and Best R&B Single of the Year.

"The album 'Silk Degrees' was an experience for me that I would wish for any musician, any creative person, because it was the fulfillment of a lot of work. It was an arrival, it was finally one that really got through to a lot of people. I was ready to go. I had a good band, I had played a lot, and this thing finally reached an audience and struck a chord. I was able to play a lot more places and do a lot of things that I wanted to do.

Musically, I discovered a whole new territory, a whole new foundation for me. I came across a group of musicians who really understood my music and were able to lend their talents to get it out of my head and onto the record. It was a very fulfilling experience, and of course when you have something that reaches such a pinnacle, there's always the challenge to follow it up and do it again and so on..."

American singer, songwriter and guitarist Boz Scaggs rose to fame in the 1970s with several top 20 hit singles in the United States. In 1976, he teamed up with a group of studio musicians who would later form Toto and recorded his seventh album "Silk Degrees", which was a huge success. The album reached No. 1 in a number of countries worldwide and spawned three hit singles: "Lowdown", "Lido Shuffle" and "What Can I Say" as well as the MOR standard "We're All Alone", which was later recorded by Rita Coolidge and Frankie Valli.

"Silk Degrees" is available as a 50th anniversary edition on green vinyl and includes an insert.
