Boyz II Men – ll (Silver Vinyl)

Boyz II Men's II arrived in 1994 as the quartet's second studio album, and it quickly turned a chart-dominating group into part of pop history. "I'll Make Love to You" and "On Bended Knee" both hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, with the latter replacing the former at the top; that made Boyz II Men the first act in 30 years to replace themselves at No. 1 in the US, after The Beatles.

The album's reputation still rests on how confidently it balances blockbuster ballads with polished contemporary R&B. "I'll Make Love to You," "On Bended Knee," and the No. 2 hit "Water Runs Dry" helped make II a diamond-certified release, but the record works as more than a singles delivery system: it sharpens the group's close-harmony style into a smoother, more self-assured set than their debut, with slow jams and vocal interplay doing most of the heavy lifting.

This edition also reflects the album's long afterlife on vinyl. Reissued to mark 29 years of a record-breaking release, it brings back one of the defining mainstream R&B albums of the mid-90s in an expanded double-LP version that suits the scale of the original hit run.
