Released in 1983, it captured the band after the departure of founder Malcolm McLaren’s early-era invention machine, with Annabella Lwin’s playful vocals still front and centre over taut guitars, propulsive rhythms and bright hooks. The album includes the UK Top 10 hit Do You Wanna Hold Me? and the swaggering Aphrodisiac, helping underline Bow Wow Wow’s gift for mixing punk attitude, pop wit and rhythmic invention. It remains a vivid snapshot of early-80s art-pop crossing over towards the mainstream.
