Released in 1978, the album followed the band’s blockbuster debut and leaned even further into Tom Scholz’s meticulous studio craft, with multi-tracked guitars, soaring vocals and tightly arranged songs designed for maximum impact. The title track became one of Boston’s signature anthems, while cuts such as A Man I’ll Never Be and Feelin’ Satisfied showed the group balancing emotion, melody and hard-edged drive. Its commercial success helped cement Boston’s place among late-1970s rock heavyweights.
