Blondshell – Violins

Blondshell's Violins is Sabrina Teitelbaum's third album, arriving in 2026 after her 2023 self-titled debut and 2025's If You Asked for a Picture. Here she turns away from songs centered on bad romantic relationships and toward a broader, tougher set of questions: how to live with violence and beauty at the same time, and how healing actually happens when it is slow, awkward, and unfinished.

That shift gives the record its shape. Across 11 songs, Teitelbaum writes about difficult friendships, religion, the body, and recovery without forcing neat conclusions. Musically, the album leans into swelling guitars, big melodic leads, and sharp hooks, while drawing on touchstones as varied as Gang of Four, Teenage Fanclub, The Go-Betweens, and Sade. The result sounds larger and more dramatic, but still emotionally direct.

Specific songs help sketch that range: the title track sets the tone, Heart Has to Work So Hard frames a fraught friendship in anthemic form, and Lucky brings a lighter, sleepless drift before the disarming closer Fur Elise. If Blondshell's earlier records established Teitelbaum's voice, Violins feels like the sound of her pushing that voice into wider, more self-defined territory.
