Black Devil’s Disco Club stands as one of the most elusive and influential artefacts of late-’70s electronic disco. Originally released in 1978, the EP was created by Bernard Fèvre alongside a collaborator operating under the playful aliases Joachim Sherylee and Junior Claristidge, blending drum machines, early synthesisers and deadpan funk into something both futuristic and subversive.
Its reputation grew steadily through the decades, culminating in renewed attention when Aphex Twin's Rephlex label reworked selected tracks in 2004. Until now, however, Disco Club has never been reissued in its complete, originally intended running order.
This edition finally restores the EP as first conceived, newly remastered from the original tapes by Fèvre himself. So closely is his legacy tied to this record that he continues to perform internationally under the Black Devil Disco Club name, reaffirming Disco Club as a cornerstone of experimental electronic music history.
