Billy Joel – Cold Spring Harbor (VG+/VG+) – LP, AU 1983

Cold Spring Harbor is an LP by Billy Joel from 1983 released on the CBS label.

About this album

Cold Spring Harbor introduced Billy Joel as a serious singer-songwriter, even if its original mastering was famously flawed. Issued in 1971, the album leans into folk-rock and balladry, pairing piano-led writing with reflective storytelling and a distinctly youthful perspective. Songs such as She’s Got a Way, Everybody Loves You Now and Tomorrow Is Today already show the melodic touch and emotional directness that would underpin Joel’s later success. Though not yet a commercial breakthrough, the album has gained retrospective respect as an important first statement, revealing the style and craft that made him one of America’s most durable pop songwriters.
