Reflektor is Arcade Fire’s most ambitious early-2010s statement, expanding their indie-rock sound into disco, art-pop and sprawling post-punk ideas. Released in 2013, the double album was produced with James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem and Markus Dravs, helping shape a record that balances dancefloor pulse with grand, conflicted songwriting. Its title track and songs like “Afterlife” and “We Exist” became central to its identity, while the Haitian voodoo and carnival references in the album’s imagery reinforced its sense of scale and ritual. Commercially successful and widely discussed, Reflektor confirmed Arcade Fire as one of the era’s most adventurous major rock bands.
