Animotion – Animotion (VG+/VG+) – LP, AU 1984

Animotion is an LP by Animotion from 1984 released on the Mercury label.

About this album

Animotion’s self-titled debut is a sharp, glossy slice of mid-1980s synth-pop, anchored by the breakthrough single Obsession. Released in 1984, the album introduced the Los Angeles band’s sleek blend of electronic textures, punchy hooks and coolly theatrical vocals, helping define the MTV-era sound of stylish American new wave. Built around bright keyboard lines and taut production, it balances dancefloor energy with a polished pop edge. Alongside Obsession, songs such as Let Him Go and Turn Around show why the record became the band’s calling card and a cult favourite among fans of polished, radio-ready synth-pop.
