"A Toda Cuba Le Gusta" (1997) is the debut album of the Afro Cuban All Stars, a project under the direction of Juan de Marcos González, which celebrates the golden era of Cuban music. It was recorded in 1996 at EGREM Studios in Havana, the same studios where "Buena Vista Social Club" was created. The album brings together legendary veterans such as Rubén González and Raúl Planas with younger musicians for a rousing performance of son, danzón, rumba and mambo.
The album is bursting with energy and was recorded live to capture the atmosphere of a Havana dance hall. It earned international acclaim and was nominated for a Grammy in the "Best Tropical Latin Performance" category. Paying homage to Cuba's musical heritage and triggering its worldwide revival, "A Toda Cuba Le Gusta" is considered a milestone in the Cuban music renaissance of the 1990s.
To celebrate the album's enduring success, a special version of "A Toda Cuba Le Gusta" is being released to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the 1996 recordings. This limited collector's edition features an eye-catching vinyl design in the colors of the Cuban flag and anniversary packaging, offering longtime fans and new listeners alike a high-quality format to rediscover this milestone album.
