The Nigerian musician Fela Kuti is considered the founder of Afrobeat. The label Knitting Factory now presents various works from the Backcatalogue as a new vinyl edition. These originate from the set "Vinyl Box 3 / Compiled by Brian Eno" put together by Brian Eno and were not available individually.
Recorded at London's Abbey Road Studios in 1973, the album is a single charge against the Nigerian establishment. Dressed in clear metaphors, he accuses the rulers and prophetically conjures up those scenarios that would soon lead him personally to repression. -
