Look Hear? shows 10cc leaning back into smart, finely engineered pop-rock after the band’s late-1970s shifts in style and line-up. Issued in 1980, the album balances polished studio craft with the group’s trademark wit, self-awareness and airtight harmonies, with songs such as One Two Five and I Hate To Eat Alone reflecting both melodic ease and lyrical mischief. By this stage 10cc were established as one of Britain’s most inventive mainstream rock acts, able to make detailed production sound effortless while keeping the music tuneful and playful.
