About this album
The Best Of 1975–1977 is a strong snapshot of 10cc at their commercial and creative peak, when the group fused pop hooks, studio craft and dry wit into some of the smartest rock singles of the decade. Drawn from the years that produced ‘I’m Not In Love’, ‘Art For Arts Sake’ and ‘The Things We Do for Love’-era success, it highlights the band’s range from lush balladry to satirical art-pop and radio-ready classic rock. By 1979, this compilation distilled the qualities that made 10cc stand out in the mid-1970s: melodic invention, polished production and a distinctive sense of irony that helped turn them into one of Britain’s most distinctive hit-making acts.
