Wynton Kelly Trio Vinyl Records

The Wynton Kelly Trio was a jazz trio founded in 1959 in New York City. It was composed of pianist Wynton Kelly, bassist Paul Chambers, and drummer Jimmy Cobb. The trio was a mainstay of the hard bop and soul jazz genres, and was particularly known for its work with Miles Davis, including appearances on Davis's influential 1959 album Kind of Blue.

The trio released several albums, including Kelly Blue (1959), Smokin' at the Half Note (1965) and Someday My Prince Will Come (1961). Notable songs include "If I Should Lose You," "Smokin' at the Half Note," and "Someday My Prince Will Come."

An interesting fact about the trio is that its members were all veterans of the Miles Davis Quintet. In addition to the trio's appearances on Kind of Blue, Wynton Kelly and Paul Chambers appeared on Miles Davis's albums Milestones (1958) and Jazz Track (1959), and Jimmy Cobb performed on Porgy and Bess (1959).
