World Party is a British musical group formed in 1986 by Karl Wallinger, formerly of the band The Waterboys. The group has released six studio albums and is best known for their hits "Ship of Fools", "Put the Message in the Box" and "She's the One".

The group's debut album, Private Revolution, was released in 1986. It featured the singles "Ship of Fools", "Way Down Now" and "Private Revolution", which all charted in the UK. The album was certified Gold in the UK and went on to sell over one million copies worldwide.

Their follow-up album, Goodbye Jumbo, was released in 1990 and was their most commercially successful album. It featured the singles "Put the Message in the Box" and "She's the One", both of which reached the top 10 in the UK. The album was certified Gold in the UK and Platinum in the US and went on to sell over three million copies worldwide.

World Party's other standout albums include Bang! (1993), Egyptology (1997), Dumbing Up (2000) and Arkeology (2012). The group has also released a number of compilation albums and live albums.
