Wayne Shorter Vinyl Records

Wayne Shorter is a Grammy Award-winning American jazz saxophonist, composer, and bandleader. He has been a prolific contributor to the jazz music scene since the mid-1950s, first as a member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers and then as a founding member of Miles Davis's Second Great Quintet. Shorter has released more than 20 albums as a bandleader and has composed music for over 50 albums.

His standout albums include Speak No Evil (1964), The All Seeing Eye (1965), and Native Dancer (1975). He won a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition for his song “Footprints” from Speak No Evil. Other notable songs include “Misterioso” from The All Seeing Eye, “Nefertiti” from Nefertiti (1967), and “Over Shadow Hill Way” from Super Nova (1969).

An interesting fact about Wayne Shorter is that he is the only musician to have been a member of both Miles Davis’s Second Great Quintet and Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers. He has been inducted into the DownBeat Jazz Hall of Fame and has been a recipient of a Kennedy Center Honor.
