Warsaw was founded in the 13th century and is the capital of Poland. It has a long and turbulent history, having been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times due to war and political turmoil. In the 19th century it became the capital of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and after World War II it was rebuilt to become the capital of the People’s Republic of Poland.

Warsaw is best known for their 1980s post-punk music. Their best-known albums are their self-titled 1979 debut and the 1980 album Closer. Standout tracks include “Heart and Soul”, “Leaders of Men” and “Love Will Tear Us Apart”.

An interesting fact about Warsaw is that the name of the band was inspired by the song “Warsaw” by the British band Joy Division.
