Traffic was an English rock band that was formed in Birmingham in 1967 by Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Chris Wood, and Dave Mason. They were an important part of the British psychedelic and progressive rock movement, with their debut album, Mr. Fantasy, being released in 1967. This album was an instant success, reaching number 17 on the UK charts.

Some of Traffic's most notable albums include The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys (1971), Shoot Out at the Fantasy Factory (1973), When the Eagle Flies (1974), and Far from Home (1994). Many of their songs such as "Dear Mr. Fantasy", "Low Spark of High Heeled Boys", "The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys (reprise)", and "John Barleycorn Must Die" are considered classic rock anthems.

An interesting fact about Traffic is that they were the first rock band to be awarded the Order of the British Empire in recognition of their contribution to the British music scene.
