Thompson Twins Vinyl Records

Thompson Twins are an English new wave and synthpop band, formed in April 1977 and active until 1993. The band initially consisted of Tom Bailey on bass and vocals, Pete Dodd on guitar and vocals, John Roog on guitar, and Jon Podgorski on drums. The group achieved considerable popularity in the mid-1980s, scoring a string of hits in the United Kingdom, the United States, and around the world.

The band's standout albums include Quick Step & Side Kick (1983), Into the Gap (1984), Here's to Future Days (1985), and Close to the Bone (1987). They had a string of hit singles, including “Lies,” “Hold Me Now,” “Doctor! Doctor!,” “You Take Me Up,” and “Lay Your Hands On Me.”

An interesting fact about Thompson Twins is that they used a drum machine on their recordings and live shows because they could not find a permanent drummer.
