The Stone Poneys' first album, The Stone Poneys, featured a mix of traditional folk and country music and was released in 1967. The group's most successful single from the album was "Different Drum," which was co-written by Michael Nesmith and reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album also featured the tracks "Bells of Rhymney" and "Here We Go Again."

The Stone Poneys' second album, Evergreen, Volume 2, was released in 1968 and featured a mix of rock and folk music.
