The Sound Vinyl Records

The Sound was an English post-punk band formed in 1979 by Adrian Borland, Michael Dudley, Graham Green, and Bi Marshall. They are best known for their critically acclaimed 1980 debut album, Jeopardy.

The band's most successful album was From the Lions Mouth, which was released in 1981 and reached #26 on the UK Albums Chart. The album featured the singles "Sense of Purpose" and "Winning" and is considered to be one of the greatest post-punk albums of all time.

Their 1984 album Thunder Up, which featured the single "Heartland," was also well-received. Other notable albums include Heads and Hearts (1985) and In the Hothouse (1986).

The band disbanded in 1988 after Borland's battle with mental illness.

An interesting fact about The Sound is that they were one of the few British post-punk bands to have a consistent line-up throughout their career.
