The Psychedelic Furs Vinyl Records

The Psychedelic Furs are an English rock band formed in London in 1977. Led by singer Richard Butler and his brother, bassist Tim Butler, the band are one of the most prominent acts of the post-punk and New Wave era. Their music went through several phases, from an initially austere art-punk sound to a more pop-oriented style.

The Psychedelic Furs’ breakthrough came in 1981 with the release of their album Talk Talk Talk, which spawned their first Top 20 hit, “Pretty in Pink”. This song, along with the single “Love My Way”, became the band’s signature songs, and remain staples of their live sets. The band released a series of successful albums throughout the 1980s, including Mirror Moves (1984) and Midnight to Midnight (1987).

The band reunited in 2000 and have since toured regularly, releasing the album Made of Rain in 2020. Some of the band’s other standout albums include Forever Now (1982), Book of Days (1989), and World Outside (1991).

An interesting fact about the Psychedelic Furs is that the band was named after a slang term for a fur coat worn by a group of punks in London in the 1970s.
