The Meters Vinyl Records

The Meters are an American funk and R&B band from New Orleans, Louisiana, who were active from the late 1960s to the mid-1970s. The band consisted of keyboardist and vocalist Art Neville, guitarist Leo Nocentelli, bassist George Porter Jr., and drummer Joseph "Zigaboo" Modeliste.

The Meters have released several standout albums throughout their career. Their 1969 debut album, Look-Ka Py Py, is considered to be one of their best, and includes tracks like "Cissy Strut" and "Look-Ka Py Py". Other notable albums include Struttin' (1970), Rejuvenation (1974), and Fire on the Bayou (1975).

Some of their most popular songs include "Cissy Strut", "Look-Ka Py Py", "Hey Pocky A-Way", and "Ain't No Use". These songs are often cited as some of the most influential funk songs of all time, and have been covered by numerous artists over the years.

An interesting fact about The Meters is that they were the house band for Allen Toussaint's production company Sea-Saint Studios in the 1970s, and provided backing for several notable acts including The Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney.
