The Mars Volta Vinyl Records
The Mars Volta is an American progressive rock band formed in 2001 in El Paso, Texas. It consists of Omar Rodríguez-López on guitar, Cedric Bixler-Zavala on vocals and keyboards, Juan Alderete on bass and Marcel Rodríguez-López on drums.
The Mars Volta's debut album, De-Loused in the Comatorium, was released in 2003 and received critical acclaim. It features singles such as "Roulette Dares (The Haunt Of)," "Televators," and "Cicatriz ESP." Their second album, Frances the Mute, was released in 2005 and is considered by many to be their magnum opus. It features the singles "The Widow," "Miranda That Ghost Just Isn't Holy Anymore," and "L'Via L'Viaquez."
The Mars Volta's third album, Amputechture, was released in 2006 and is considered by many to be a departure from their earlier sound. It features the singles "Vicarious Atonement" and "Viscera Eyes." Their fourth album, The Bedlam in Goliath, was released in 2008 and is considered by many to be their most experimental album. It features the singles "Goliath," "Wax Simulacra," and "Metatron."
The band's fifth and final studio album, Noctourniquet, was released in 2012 and features the singles "The Malkin Jewel," "Empty Vessels Make the Loudest Sound," and "The Whip Hand."
An interesting fact about The Mars Volta is that the band has collaborated with numerous artists, including John Frusciante, Flea, and John Densmore.
