The Libertines Vinyl Records

The Libertines are an English rock band formed in London in 1997 by Carl Barât and Pete Doherty. The band achieved mainstream success in the UK and built a devoted fanbase in the United States, despite not achieving major commercial success in either country.

Their debut album, Up the Bracket (2002), was acclaimed by critics and included their most successful single to date, "Can't Stand Me Now". Their follow-up, The Libertines (2004), was also a critical and commercial success and spawned the hit single "Don't Look Back into the Sun".

The Libertines are known for their eclectic mix of punk, garage rock and Britpop, as well as their energetic and often chaotic live shows. They have been cited as an influence by many bands, including Arctic Monkeys, The Vaccines and The Strokes.

Some of their standout albums include Up the Bracket, The Libertines, and Anthems for Doomed Youth (2015). Standout singles include "Can't Stand Me Now", "Don't Look Back into the Sun", and "What Katie Did".

An interesting fact about The Libertines is that their song "What Katie Did" was inspired by the tragic story of a former friend of the band, Katie, who died of a heroin overdose in 2003.
