The L.A. Express Vinyl Records

The L.A. Express is a jazz fusion group that formed in Los Angeles in 1972. It was formed by saxophonist Tom Scott and guitarist Larry Carlton. The group had a variety of members, including drummer John Guerin, keyboardist Robben Ford, bassist Max Bennett, and percussionist Victor Feldman.

Their debut album, Tom Cat, was released in 1974 and featured the hit single "Today". It was followed by their second album, L.A. Express, which featured the popular single "Smile". Their third album, Carole Bayer Sager, was released in 1975 and featured the hit single "You're Moving Out Today".

The group's most successful album was their fourth, Tomorrow, which was released in 1976 and featured the hit single "What Can I Say". The album was certified Gold in the US and spawned several hit singles, including "Love is the Doctor" and "I Got a Name".

The L.A. Express disbanded in 1977, but reunited briefly in the 1980s to record an album, Love Beach.

An interesting fact about the L.A. Express is that they were one of the first jazz fusion groups to incorporate elements of rock and funk music into their sound. They were also one of the few jazz fusion groups to gain mainstream success.
