The Human League Vinyl Records

The Human League is an English synth-pop band that formed in Sheffield, England in 1977. The founding members included Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh, both of whom had previously been in the band Heaven 17. They were soon joined by lead singer Philip Oakey, who was the frontman of the group.

The Human League’s first album, “Reproduction”, was released in 1979 and featured the single “Being Boiled”. This single was a success and propelled them to mainstream success. Their second album, “Travelogue”, was released in 1980 and featured the single “Empire State Human”.

The Human League’s biggest success came with the release of their third album, “Dare”, in 1981. This album featured the single “Don’t You Want Me”, which reached number one on the UK singles chart and number three in the US. Other successful singles from the album included “Love Action (I Believe In Love)”, “The Sound of the Crowd” and “Open Your Heart”.

The Human League continued to release music throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including the albums “Hysteria” (1984), “Crash” (1986) and “Octopus” (1995). They also released a greatest hits compilation in 2003, which featured some of their most successful songs, including “Don’t You Want Me”, “Human” and “Mirror Man”.

An interesting fact about The Human League is that they were one of the first bands to use electronic instruments in a pop context. They used a combination of synthesizers, drum machines and sequencers to create their unique sound.
